The Call of Duty 7 is being developed by Treyarch and rumor comes that this new version of CoD will be arriving in November this year. The “senior UK trade source” said this. This new game is set in late 1960s Vietnam says sources.

Since the CoD:WaW was finished in the year 2008, this game was under development by Treyarch. In past few years Infinity Ward and Treyarch team have traded work on CoD titles from the time of Call of Duty 3I. Since then the developer Infinity Ward has also developed Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 and the Treyarch has developed Call of Duty: World at War.

Call of Duty 7 will be representing another and also vastly different direction for the CoD series. But this is also a risky venture because Vietnam shooters have had been before in video games such as Battlefield: Vietnam, Men of Valor, and the Shellshock series. These all showed poor performance in terms of sale numbers. But we should also know that with the CoD series nothing can go wrong.

The rumor also comes that Infinity Ward may pass the creation of Modern Warfare 3 to some another developer so that it is well focused on creating a Call of Duty MMO.

There has been no confirmation of this rumor yet.
