Next chapter of Call of Duty will be highly successful says Activision

After few weeks of negative news surrounding the publisher and franchise alike, Activision now speaks out that the next chapter of Call of Duty will be highly successful in the CoD series. After the Infinity Ward saga that saw the main heads Vince Zampella and Jason West leave and join Electronic Arts, Activision joined World at War developers Treyarch for the development helm of Black Ops.

Recently Treyarch stated that the Black Ops project of theirs will be the best CoD. Josh Olin, community manager of Treyarch, expressed that Black Ops will be one of the best games in the Call of Duty series. He said that separate teams are working on “the core pillars” of the game’s multiplayer, co-op and single-player. He said, ““It’s kind of like three games being developed at once.”

Olin also mentioned that although the IW situation with Activision is unfortunate but it is not letting to distract the 11-million-units seller CoD:WaW developers.

CoD Black Ops now also features helicopters

In a recent press conference of Microsoft, Treyarch disclosed a new level of the upcoming Call of Duty games, the Black Ops, set to be released this November.

The level of the game, which is set in Vietnam, shows one of the infamous tunnels of the region that were used by the VC forces at the time of the Vietnam war to move without getting noticed by the US forces.

The role of Mason is assumed by the players who leads a squad for searching the Russian forces. One may find that as the Mason moves through the tunnels with the squad, the point man of the squad is stabbed to death.

A wider cave area firefight level was also shown by Treyarch in the conference. Well, they immediately skipped ahead to Mason and co. who were moving towards a Russian refueling depot with operational Hind helicopter.

In the entire press conference there were two main news and that were the title World at War is back for Black Ops and the other one is the inclusion of helicopter sequences.

Black Ops is something new says Lamia

Treyarch’s Mark Lamia in an interview said on the making of Black Ops that the studio had to focus completely on the Call of Duty as one need to take everything to make a great game. He added further that this is the third Call of Duty in this generation of console hardware and of course sixth game of any kind in the hardware generation.

Lamia also added further that the trailer of Black Ops will speak for the game and the team hopes that it will off for the fans. He said that all the fans of CoD will enjoy the outcome.

About the creation, Lamia said that the team wanted to create something new, which should be new for them as well as new for the CoD franchise. He added that they developed the idea of Cold War, but it is not completely the Cold War. He said that it is about the secret wars and such wars happened even when hot wars were on the peak in Vietnam and many other places.

Lamia mentioned that the fans and players of Call of Duty wanted something fresh.

New Zombies coming in iPhone

Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies II is coming on iPhone also. This was recently revealed by Activision Publishing, Inc. and developer Treyarch.

The title for the iPhone Zombies II has been adapted from ‘Shi No Numa’ map, the most popular map.

The new Zombies for the iPhone and iPad is loaded with some new characters and also some new massive locations. There can also be seen new weapon Wundewaffe DG-2 and new traps. The new undead enemies of the game are Hellhounds.

Treyarch now stick to cent percent CoD company

Developer Treyarch recently revealed that they henceforth the company will devote cent percent of theirs to the Call of Duty franchise.

Mark Lamia, the studio head, said that from now onwards Call of Duty will only be making Call of Duty branded games.

He said, “Treyarch is a 100 percent Call of Duty studio — and it has been for a long time now, long before any of [the Infinity Ward] events occurred. We focused all of our efforts on creating the best Call of Duty game we possibly can and what that meant is not working on anything else.”

Lamia added further in the interview, “We are a multiple team studio and focusing on Call of Duty and Call of Duty gameplay meant focusing all of our teams on that.”

Earlier to Call of Duty games, the studio had made few Spider-Man games and sports games. The launch of their Call of Duty games gave them popularity.

It will be good for Treyarch for being a fully Call of Duty developer because now they will be able to see exactly what they can do.

Shi No Numa add-ons on iPhone CoD Zombies

Activision is now unleashing something more for iPhones. It has been reported recently that the fan favorite Shi No Numa map is now being added to the Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies.

As far as it is remembered, the Verruckt map was added originally for $4.99 to the game and it seems that the Shi No Numa map will also be priced the same.

Well, there is one catch. Either you can purchase this map within app or else you can purchase it as a separate game at a price of $9.99.

Shi No Numa map is in fact one of the best maps of the game because it is one of the largest. Even the company guarantees, “All of the major features from the console version are carrying over.”

Along with this the Zombie Swamp mode includes some new enemies and also weapons.

The weapons also include Arisaka. It is a Type 100 machine gun. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 is also there. Talking about the enemies, those are the Japanese and “Hellhounds”. Gamers can also pick their own character with this new mode.

Difference between Black Ops and World At War are same as CoD 2 and 4

Recently an article was published in the official magazine of Xbox and it was about Treyarch’s upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The article says that the new Black Ops will be “grubbier” than the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Meanwhile, Treyarch is putting full effort and much of emphasis on co-op as the game is on single-player and multiplayer. The magazine quoted Treyarch: “three games in one” mantra.

The magazine also quoted one of the best line. It is the difference between the new coming Black Ops and already existing World At War. The quote says that it is like the difference between CoD2 and CoD4.

There was some related news in the ESPN recently and it claimed a world premier reveal during the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday.

Are you going to buy Call of Duty: World at War? If yes, then stop!

If you are wanting to have a fix of World War II era shoot ‘em up action, then do cool your jets this time till the summer’s Call of Duty: The War Collection hits the market.

Publisher Activision seems to be now exploiting three CoD franchise’s WWII-iest first-person shooters. It is the “complete versions of Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War”. This bundle will come in a single package for Xbox 360.

Well, till now nothing has been mentioned in the collection’s product listing. It is not mentioned there whether the downloadable content that has been released for the mentioned games would be included or not.

At Amazon.com and GameStop retailing websites the Call of Duty: The War Collection is listed for $59.99 USD and it is being release in the month of June in North America. From the listings at these retailers it is understood as of now that the bundle appears to be an Xbox 360-only product.
